japan ART EX is an art-event platform designed to connect people, places, information, experiences, and commercial opportunities across the art ecosystem. The project reimagines how art is discovered, experienced, and supported through digital products and industry-wide networks.

Beginning with an app for exploring art fairs, festivals, and exhibitions, the initiative is developing into a broader platform for event organizers, galleries, cultural institutions, companies, media organizations, and local businesses. The work spans business development, product strategy, digital transformation for art organizations, ecosystem development, and strategic partnerships.

Project Overview

An art-event experience extends far beyond the time spent viewing a work. It begins with discovering an event and obtaining access, continues through navigating venues and the surrounding city, and deepens through learning about artists and their work. The relationship can continue long after the visit itself.

japan ART EX brings these fragmented touchpoints together within a connected digital platform. For visitors, it creates a more seamless and rewarding way to experience art. For organizers and cultural institutions, it provides an operational foundation for audience development, event management, communications, and data-informed improvement.

Business Development

Platform and Product Development

The product vision and roadmap center on japan ART EX and include event discovery, interactive venue maps, digital stamp rallies, push notifications, special offers, and multilingual content. Planned capabilities also include ART PASS, ticketing, and VIP access.

The experience is designed as a continuous visitor journey—from pre-visit discovery and admission to navigating venues and the city, encountering new work, and reconnecting after the event. This approach clarifies the experiences, features, and operational requirements needed by both visitors and organizers.

Digital Transformation and Audience Development for Art Organizations

For galleries, art fairs, festivals, and cultural institutions, the platform brings together event communications, audience acquisition, ticketing and check-in, venue guidance, visitor circulation, real-time notifications, and attendance data.

The objective is not simply to digitize existing operations. Each implementation is designed to improve both the visitor experience and the organizer's ability to operate and grow, with a modular structure that can be adapted to the purpose, scale, and format of each event.

Art Ecosystem Development

The project connects artists, galleries, event organizers, cultural institutions, companies, media organizations, local businesses, and audiences, creating a network in which new points of contact, collaborations, and commercial opportunities can emerge.

Rather than focusing primarily on selling art directly, the business is built around an enabling infrastructure through which participants across the art sector can share information, create richer experiences, and develop new opportunities.

New Ventures and Strategic Partnerships

Potential partnerships are developed across ticketing, payments, AI, media, and corporate sponsorship. These collaborations support new services and revenue models that can extend beyond individual events to multiple organizers, cities, and regions.

Product Strategy and Delivery

The business concept is translated into product requirements, user journeys, features, interfaces, and operational workflows. By aligning stakeholders throughout the process, the work connects strategic intent with implementation while balancing commercial viability, technical feasibility, and long-term scalability.

Both sides of the platform are considered together: the experience presented to visitors and the management capabilities required by event organizers and cultural institutions.

Web Implementation and Market Validation

The official website was restructured to communicate the platform's value more clearly, explain the visitor experience, and articulate the benefits available to event organizers. Its information architecture and UI/UX were redesigned in both Japanese and English.

AI-assisted development enabled ideas to be translated into working interfaces through short iteration cycles. The resulting Web platform supports ongoing updates to app features, case studies, news, media content, and policies. The website renewal is positioned not as the project itself, but as one implementation layer for communicating and validating the wider business vision.

Building Infrastructure for the Art Sector

The long-term goal is not simply to create another app that lists art events. It is to build an infrastructure that connects the experience of exploring art with the operational and commercial activity that sustains the events behind it.

Beyond digital convenience, the platform is designed to support unexpected encounters with art, the pleasure of moving between venues, time spent exploring a city, and lasting engagement after a visit—creating new connections between art and society.
