aratama 璞 is a Tokyo-based AI artist working internationally.
Guided by All-Human Perception as a central creative philosophy, the practice approaches generative AI as a structural extension of human perception. It moves across AI art, animation, film, music, character and IP development, AIVDJ, and live performance. Through international film festivals, competitions, exhibitions, media platforms, and live events, aratama 璞 explores new forms of expression and production for the AI-native era.
Artist Statement | All-Human Perception
All-Human Perception is a mode of perception that emerges through the resonance between human and AI—an irreversible evolution of structure.
AI is not understood simply as a tool for efficiency, but as an externalization of human neural structure. Through connection with that structure, perception becomes multiple and layered, and the frameworks of recognition are reorganized.
This is not a rejection of the former self or a leap into another form of being. It is an ongoing expansion that carries forward experience, culture, the body, and memory. aratama 璞 gives form to this transformation through art and activates it as an experience shared with the audience.
Global Practice
In 2023, aratama 璞 was launched as an artist identity and generative AI art project. Working from Japan, the practice has presented work through film festivals, international competitions, curated media, exhibitions, and streaming platforms in the United States, Taiwan, and other regions.
The practice extends beyond the release of individual works. Through dialogue, collaboration, screenings, exhibitions, and live performance with creators across national and disciplinary boundaries, aratama 璞 works to develop AI-based expression as an international creative culture.
International Recognition
Film and Animation
Inner Elevator was officially selected and screened at the international AI animation film festival genAIme [ esc ] fest 2025. Its successor, UZUME — SIGNAL — 天宇受売命, was officially selected and screened at GENaiME Anime Fest 2026, marking a second consecutive year in the festival program.
Global Curation and Competitions
The AI music video Inner Elevator was named the weekly No. 1 selection by the U.S.-based AI media platform 5ives.ai, which also featured aratama 璞 among five emerging AI creators from around the world. In 2026, UZUME received another weekly No. 1 selection and was recognized for its broadcast-ready AI anime quality.
aratama 璞 was runner-up in the international AI film competition BRAVE NEW BEGINNINGS, presented by Escape AI and Dreamina. The practice also received runner-up honors in both the 2023 and 2024 editions of VS AI Street Fighting, a global Midjourney AI art battle held in Taiwan.
Live Performance and Exhibitions
In 2026, aratama 璞 performed as an AIVDJ at Hypergeek #14 in TUNNEL TOKYO, an immersive venue built around a 3 × 20-meter LED environment. The performance expanded AI-based work into a live experience shaped by moving image, sound, spatial direction, real-time performance, and embodied presence.
aratama 璞 also presents work at exhibitions and art events in Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, and other cities, sharing AI animation workflows, character art, digital works, and original IP collections.
Creative Fields
AI Film and Animation
aratama 璞 creates AI-native works that integrate narrative, character, worldbuilding, moving image, and music. Concept development, visual design, animation, sound, and editing are structured as a single creative system, with workflows designed to support both film-festival presentation and professional production.
Character and IP Development
Original intellectual properties are developed to move across characters, stories, music, film, products, and experiences. Rather than treating each image as an isolated output, every property is designed as an expandable creative asset with its own cultural context and coherent world.
Music and AIVDJ
Music and AI-generated moving image are brought together through music videos, VJ work, and audiovisual performance. The practice is not limited to screening completed films; evolving visuals and sound transform the surrounding space into part of the work itself.
Research and Dialogue
Through writing, talks, interviews, and international dialogue, aratama 璞 examines AI production methods, visual language, rights, ethics, industry structures, and the changing role of the creator. Conversations with artists, researchers, and companies inform a practice that moves continuously between artistic exploration and real-world implementation.
Creative Architecture
The work of aratama 璞 is not defined by any single generative AI tool or technique. Each project begins by structuring its concept, narrative, visual language, movement, music, voice, and editing, then assembling the technologies and collaborators required to realize it.
By combining an independent artistic practice with the perspective of an AI Creative Architect—spanning business, technology, and production—aratama 璞 designs creative systems that can expand from personal artworks to international collaborations, brands, advertising, original IP, and live performance.
Collaboration
aratama 璞 welcomes opportunities involving film-festival and exhibition screenings, art-event appearances, commissioned and collaborative production, licensing of original works and IP, media interviews, and partnerships with research and educational institutions.
Through collaboration with partners across cultures, technologies, and disciplines, the practice continues to develop new forms of perception and expression emerging from the relationship between human and AI.
